First ever human living with robotic heart

First ever human living with robotic heart

A 15 year old boy living in Italy became the first living person to have a permanent artificial heart, due to the Duchenne syndrome which was wasting his muscles away.

Doctors in Rome inserted the 4cm long electrically-activated hydraulic pump heart in his left ventricle because of syndrome he wasn't able to get heart transplant. Also a battery is attached with his belt to keep giving power to his heart. Now hopefully he will live for another 20-25 years, Perhaps longer.

First ever artificial heart was transplanted in 1969 with the weight of 90g, for man's heart. It lasted for 64 hours, featured in photo.
