Well, you can apply that also to If you want to feel great about accomplishing something and making your life easier at the same time. Want that satisfaction? then DIY.
There are many things that fall into the DIY category. Ranging from things that need to be done for necessity all the way to doing things just for fun and practicality.
Here are a few things that you can easily do that span a few different and unique projects.
Get rid of your annoying blackheads in 5 minutes or less. Grab a half lemon from the refrigerator (doesn't matter if some of the juice has been squeezed from it) and put 3-4 drops of honey on it. Rub the lemon on your face concentrating on trouble areas. Leave the mixture on your face for 5 minutes and then wash it with cold water.
Fantastic idea for those old bottles cluttering up the place that turns them into handy and beautiful little showcases.
Now this is a pretty cool idea for those old milk, juice, water etc. jugs and it only takes a moment to do. You just cut out a part of it, as shown in the image, and instantly you have a handy little painting helper. Don't leave your brush out in the air, wash it, wrap it when finished so it will last.
You know those fake drawers every kitchen has? This is a great space saving use for them. Pull them out and use that space to hang your holder for paper towels.
Generally, whenever we have a marker go dry we usually toss them into a drawer and they build up. For some reason we don't usually toss them into the garbage, (the psychology behind that is a whole other post). Here's a great DIY for them. Take them toss them into some water and viola! you have watercolor paints for the kids...or you.
Can't quite get the hang of using chopsticks? Take a spring off a clothespin and use that until your skills improve. They are like training wheels for your chopsticks.
Use your old milk or juice carton to make a pourable jar. Do this by cutting off the area with the sprout and placing it over the mouth of the jar.
It's no secret roses are beautiful flowers, but you can make your own colorful rainbow roses. Cut the stems according to the image. Place 1 part of the stem in one of the 4 different glasses filled with water and food coloring. Carnations work exceptionally well also.
Have some old water bottles you haven't thrown away yet? Put them to use by cutting off the top of them and threading a plastic bag through the top as shown in the image. You can make you several pourable plastic containers. Plastic thickness dependent on contents.
